From mold remediation to restoration and remodels, we want to make sure you have the information you need to make the right decision for your home. At ELCO, a job well done involves honest quotes and quality workmanship.

Our process is designed to be as streamlined and educational as possible. This takes shape in three steps: a consultation, an onsite visit, and an estimate and project proposal.

After our visit, we will construct a proposal and send it out to you at no charge. Once accepted, the proposal will be converted to an estimate.

Frequently asked questions

What is your service area?

We service primarily western Michigan: Lansing, Grand Haven, Holland, Grand Rapids, Jenison, Hudsonville, Grandville; as far north as Howard City and as far south as Shelbyville.

How long does an air test take?

On average, two samples (a control sample and a test sample) take about 30 minutes to complete on site.

Do you analyze your own air tests?

We do not analyze our own air tests. To eliminate biased test results, tests are sent to a third party lab. It takes about three days to receive test results.

How does the mold inspection work?

Our professional assessment has one goal: to leave you with an unbiased opinion so you can make an informed decision about your home. The inspection consists of a thorough walkthrough of the whole home: the attic, crawl space, basements, bathrooms, and more. Photos and documentation will be taken of any concerns pertaining to mold.

What does it take to properly remediate mold?

Treating any mold is always a two-stage process: identify the source of the occurring mold and make proper fixes.

On the first day, we will spray and scrub the mold with an antimicrobial agent. All contaminated material will be carefully removed and placed in thick plastic bags and sealed according to ICRC standards. If any demolition is needed, it will happen on the first day.

On the second day, we will encapsulate the mold with a mold and mildew proof paint.

How do I know the rest of my home will be safe from mold when you tear it out?

Before the remediation process begins, the area that is getting remediated gets completely contained.

A containment room gets built around the mold with 4mil plastic using tension poles and tape sealing all seams. An Air Scrubber is then installed in the affected area to clean all floating air particles. Before any contaminated material is removed from the contained space, everything gets wiped down with antimicrobial agents to ensure safe passage through the home.

Do you only remediate, or do you also restore?

ELCO Restoration can take your home from remediation to full restoration.
